At Kent Coast Volunteering, we believe in helping older people stay connected, independent, and supported. As a Volunteer Community Driver, you will play a vital role by providing friendly and reliable transportation for people aged 65 and over, helping them attend medical appointments and occasionally participate in social activities that reduce loneliness and improve their well-being.
* Location: Various locations across the Kent Coast – Dover, Folkestone, and Thanet District
* Position Type: Volunteer ( Paid Mileage )
* Time Commitment: Flexible – ideally a few hours per week, depending on your availability
Community Driver - Key Responsibilities:
* Provide safe, timely transport for our clients to medical appointments such as GP, hospital, dental, and other essential healthcare visits.
* Support clients attending community activities, such as lunch clubs, group meetups, or social support sessions, when available.
* Offer a warm, respectful, and supportive presence to older passengers, some of whom may have limited mobility.
* Maintain clear communication with Kent Coast Volunteering staff regarding schedules, availability, and any concerns.
What We’re Looking For:
* A full, valid UK driving licence
* A friendly, patient, and caring nature – someone who enjoys supporting older people.
* Good communication skills and a sense of reliability.
* Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
* Understanding of the need for confidentiality and safeguarding.
