We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Lewes, supporting the delivery of long-term highways and public realm improvement schemes across East Sussex. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and enhancing vital local infrastructure that keeps communities connected and moving.
What you'll be doing
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, ensuring value for money while maintaining quality and standards.
* Prepare and manage valuations, applications, and cost/value reconciliations.
* Lead procurement activities, managing subcontractor and supplier relationships.
* Support senior commercial colleagues in governance, risk management, and cost control.
* Identify and implement value engineering opportunities and cost‑saving measures.
* Produce and manage Bills of Quantities, schedules of rates, and payment calendars.
* Ensure accurate commercial reporting through our ERP system and project controls.
Who we're looking for
You’ll Have
* A degree (BSc or MSc) in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
* Solid experience working on term maintenance or infrastructure contracts, ideally under NEC or ICC conditions.
* Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
* Confidence in stakeholder management, teamwork, and communication.
* A proactive mindset focused on achieving results and supporting continuous improvement.
* Working towards or holding professional membership (RICS, ICES, or CIOB).
