Post Title: Nurture Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Reporting to: Phase Leader
Work Pattern: 39 weeks (Term time only) – 1 year fixed term, with potential to extend
Working Hours: 37.5 hours/week
Salary: £24,836 (FTE) / £21,430.60 (Actual)
Job Purpose: To support teachers in delivering the national curriculum, develop support staff, and contribute to school policies. To work collaboratively, assist in planning, manage resources, cover classes during absences, and support pupils' achievement and inclusion. The successful candidate will receive training from Nurture UK and coordinate curriculum input and interventions.
Main Duties
* Plan and prepare lessons, develop resources, and contribute to out-of-school learning opportunities.
* Teach classes during absences, provide feedback, motivate pupils, and support inclusion and behavior management.
* Assist in assessing pupils, monitor progress, and contribute to reports and evaluations.
* Mentor and support other staff, participate in meetings, and contribute to school policies.
* Uphold safeguarding policies, promote positive behavior, and support pastoral needs.
* Supervise students during non-teaching times, support health and safety, and work within equal opportunity policies.
Person Specification
Qualifications: GCSE English & Maths at grade C/4 or above; HLTA qualification or equivalent; desirable: Degree.
Experience: Experience or interest in nurture approaches, school environment, and interacting with families.
