Job Title: Hydrology & Water Resources Specialist

About the Role:
You'll be joining a specialist Catchment Science team delivering technical services and advice across water resources, hydrology, hydroecology, water quality and hydrogeology. The role will focus on contributing to investigations and models that support water resource planning and regulatory compliance, with opportunities to lead on projects, mentor junior colleagues, and develop innovative approaches.
About the Client:

Key Responsibilities:
* Contribute to hydrological and water management aspects of WINEP investigations and WRMP inputs.
* Develop rainfall-runoff models (e.g. GR6J), applying robust calibration techniques.
* Support wider hydrology applications, including flow naturalisation and reservoir mass balance modelling.
* Apply knowledge of demand management and water resources modelling tools (e.g. Aquator, PyWR, MISER).
* Stay up to date with UK water management regulations and guidance.
* Assess climate change resilience using UKCP18 datasets.
* Supervise small hydrology teams, mentoring and supporting junior colleagues.
* Ensure high-quality client and regulator-facing deliverables.
* Collaborate across disciplines to deliver hydrological inputs into diverse projects.
* (Desirable) Apply programming skills (Python and/or R) to strengthen project outputs.
What Our Client is Looking For:
* MSc in Hydrology & Water Resources (or similar) and a related BSc.
* Working towards, or achieved, chartership with a relevant professional body.
* Strong track record of contributing to water resources projects in recent AMP cycles.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to produce clear, concise reports.
* Detail-driven, with a strong commitment to quality assurance.
