Equifind are supporting a rapid growth Fintech business in central London, based by Oxford Circus, looking to hire a Group Financial Controller to report into the firm's CFO.
The Company
With a headcount of currently just over 150, the firm will be rapidly expanding and this is a Group Financial Controller position crucial to the running of the finance function, reporting in to the UK CFO. Seeking a 10 year PQE+ Accountant capable of managing a decent sized qualified finance function. This hire will make the team 7 in total. The firm is looking for an exit over the next 2 years, so a great time to join and be involved.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast paced Fintech environment, where you will have autonomy to put processes in place and streamline the existing ones. In charge of core finance and FP&A - a technically sound but commercial accountant is sought after.
Key Accountabilities:
* Supporting the FD in developing the Finance function, identifying the critical elements of the Finance blueprint and maturing the overall operating model for Finance
* Taking responsibility for preparing our annual report and accounts, monthly consolidated financial statements and our monthly board packs
* Redesigning FP&A processes, managing the team and responsible for FP&A work not only with budgeting and forecasting but DD for M&A and plenty of ad hoc work for the CEO directly
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with the board and risk/audit subcommittees as well as banks, auditors, regulators, advisors, and other key stakeholders
* Ensuring the firm builds a world class accounting and reporting function and taking responsibility for an effective and highly automated financial control environment across all our businesses
* Managing and delivering on our regulatory reporting commitments, across a number different jurisdictions and regulators
* Ensure the firm is fully compliant with all applicable financial regulation e.g. tax and regulatory reporting requirements
* Managing, supporting and developing more junior members of the team to actively train and improve staff knowledge and empower colleagues to take the next step in their career
Requirements
* Ideally qualified, 10 years+ PQE experience
* Positive and proactive nature
* Ability to deal with senior stakeholders
