Roles & Responsibilities: VACANCY - LAKES AQUARIUM CATERING SUPERVISOR Are you passionate about creating memorable guest experiences and leading a team to success? Do you have a keen eye for detail and a knack for driving food and beverage sales? If so, we invite you to join our team as a Catering Supervisor at The Lakes Aquarium - In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our catering facilities, including the 1872 Café, Lake View Café, and Ice Cream Kiosk. You will also take responsibility for the day-to-day running of these outlets in the absence of the Catering Manager. Key Responsibilities Team leadership: Supervise and lead a team of seasonal employees, fostering a positive work environment and encouraging teamwork. Customer satisfaction: Ensure our guests receive exceptional service and enjoy their time with us. Operations management: Oversee the daily operations of the 1872 Café, Lakeview Café, and Ice Cream Kiosk, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance with food safety regulations. Stock management: Monitor and manage inventory levels, order supplies, and conduct regular stock checks. Act as deputy: Step in for the Catering Manager when they are absent, taking responsibility for shifts and overall operation. Innovation: Help implement new ideas for menus, promotions, or services that enhance the visitor experience and align with our values. Food safety & hygiene: Ensure strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations, including allergen management and staff training. Duty manager role: Occasionally act as a Duty Manager for the Aquarium, overseeing the safety, security, and smooth running of the entire facility. What we’re looking for Previous experience in a supervisory role within catering or hospitality is highly desirable. Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively. A proactive and positive attitude, with excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (a Level 2 Food Safety Certificate is desirable or a willingness to obtain it). Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and during peak periods.
