Assistant Management Accountant
TEAM LEWIS is seeking an ambitious, proactive individual to join our dynamic finance team as an Assistant Management Accountant. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in day-to-day transactional activities and management accounting, learning directly from experienced colleagues. We are looking for a detail-oriented, part-qualified professional (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent) with at least one year of relevant experience—industry knowledge is highly desirable. Responsibilities
Management Accounting & Reporting
1. Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and journal postings.
2. Support monthly variance analysis and provide insightful commentary.
3. Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
4. Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
5. Provide financial analysis and reporting to support business decision-making.
6. Support the preparation of VAT returns and other statutory filings.
7. Liaise with internal departments to gather financial information and resolve queries.
Accounts Receivable & Billing
8. Manage the end-to-end UK billing process, including preparing, obtaining sign-off, and sending project and monthly retainer invoices.
9. Ensure all retainers and projects are supported by appropriate contracts, SOWs, or written client approval; follow up with non-finance colleagues as needed.
10. Update and maintain the weekly billing schedule.
11. Conduct monthly project billing audits to ensure timely and accurate invoicing.
12. Set up TEAM LEWIS as a new vendor on online invoicing portals for major clients.
13. Follow up on missing project bills and anomalies with finance colleagues.
14. Oversee UK credit control: chase outstanding payments, escalate problem debts, and circulate the fortnightly UK Debt Report. Maintain awareness of client size, jurisdiction, and risk, and perform credit checks as appropriate.
Process Improvement & Audit Support
15. Assist in the implementation and improvement of financial processes and systems.
16. Support audit processes by preparing schedules and responding to auditor queries.
17. Assist with the year-end audit process and manage the archiving system.
18. Compile ad-hoc reports and analysis as required.
General
19. Act as a cultural ambassador for the region, promoting finance initiatives and activities via social media and internal channels.
20. Contribute to the continuous improvement of finance systems, practices, and policies.
21. Provide cover for team members during absences.
22. Add and maintain project and task codes in the timesheet system.
23. Undertake ad-hoc duties and project work as required.
About you
24. At least 1+ year(s) of relevant experience
25. Part-qualified professional (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent)

30. IT literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
