About the Role:
As an Electrical Engineering Technician, you will focus on increasing line efficiencies through minimizing unplanned stoppages, maximizing planned maintenance, and leading continuous improvement activities at our Guinness packaging site in Belfast. Your responsibilities include engaging with maintenance personnel, delivering effective maintenance and performance reviews, troubleshooting downtime issues via root cause analysis, and ensuring health and safety compliance.
The role involves working a 42-hour week on a 4 on 4 off rolling shift pattern, including day and night shifts.
About You:
You should be a team player with strong decision-making skills, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to improvement. You must be a time-served electrical engineer with relevant qualifications, understanding of health and safety legislation, and environmental risk principles.
Requirements – Skills and Experience:
* Recognized Electrical apprenticeship, HNC or equivalent qualification
* Experience with variable frequency drives, servo drives and motors, ProfiBus, electro-pneumatics, PLC (desired but not essential), 3-phase motors, and control circuits
* Knowledge of 17th/18th Edition Electrical Wiring regulations
Essential Experience:
* Numerical and verbal reasoning skills, computer literacy
* Understanding of asset performance, maintenance philosophy, process improvement, and root cause analysis
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
* Strong communication skills and character to challenge poor team behaviors
* Advocate for manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement
* Flexible and positive response to change
Desirable:
* Knowledge of risk standards (Quality, H&S, Environment)
* SAP experience
