We are currently looking for experienced and enthusiastic Support Workers to join our dedicated Supported Living service across three of our homes in Godalming. The homes support adults of varying ages with epilepsy and autism. This is a really rewarding opportunity to help vulnerable people continue to lead independent lives whilst providing them with meaningful support to offer the best possible experience for our tenants.
The Role:
This role is based across three Meath properties in Godalming, Surrey, within walking distance to our main residential care home on Westbrook Road. This role includes day shifts, weekends, evenings and sleep-in shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support people with learning disabilities and/ or epilepsy to the highest standard and in line with their support plan, cultural needs and wishes.
* Assist and encourage people to engage in everyday home, social, leisure and work activities, according to the individual's choice.
* Help people to develop skills to enable them to manage their daily lives, including support with banking and benefits.
* Support people to achieve planned goals and personal outcomes.
* Encourage people to become active and valued participants in their local community.
* Support and encourage people to make choices and life decisions in line with the Mental Capacity Act requirements.
* Support people with their health needs as required, e.g. taking medication and attending doctor's appointments.
* Support people to manage their own home, including supporting individuals with maintaining their tenancies and recognising and reporting maintenance concerns or hazards.
* Support people to maintain relationships with family and friends.
* Support people with personal care if required, which may include toileting and bathing, in line with their support plan.
* Keep accurate and up to date records.
* Maintain confidentiality at all times.
* To ensure that a person's rights, dignity, choice and privacy are respected at all times.
* Participate in learning and development opportunities as required.
* Be aware of the steps to take in line with Safeguarding Adults at Risk Policies should an allegation of abuse be witnessed or made by you.
* Any other reasonable tasks that may be required.

Hours: Up to 38 hours per week
Shifts: 7:30am – 2:30pm, 1:45pm – 8:45pm, 7:30am – 8:45pm.
