National Transport Manager
We have an exciting opportunity for a National Transport Manager to join the team. Whilst we can be flexible on the location of the role, travel support your teams based in multiple locations around the country will be required.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised National Transport Manager to join our Transport team. The successful candidate will be responsible for working alongside our Area Transport Managers and to support the Group’s branch network on transport & plant related matters through guidance, training, & monitoring systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Manage the day-to-day leadership of the Area Transport Managers.
2. Formulise branch compliance procedures and update policies as required.
3. Create long term assessment and auditing plans in line with available resources.
4. Ensure direct reports are fully trained/compliant and qualified at all times to carry out their day-to-day duties.
5. Continually driving down work-related road risk through Group initiatives and targeting areas of risk, this will also involve engaging with other Huws Gray colleagues, systems, and suppliers to continually refresh league tables and data.
6. Be part of the move to digitisation of the Transport team.
7. Responsible for monitoring vehicle utilisation KPIs and identifying areas of improvement & transformation
What you will need:
8. National CPC holder (Required).
9. Full driving licence (Vocational Preferable).
10. Strong working knowledge of fleet compliance and current & future legislation.
11. Driver Assessor (or equivalent) qualification (Preferable).
12. Knowledge of work-related road risk and techniques of reducing risk.
13. Wide experience of fleet management systems
14. Proficiency in investigative methods to achieve root cause analysis.
