Assistant Accountant
Navantia UK | Methil | Finance Excellence & Operational Support
Navantia UK is growing in Methil — and we’re looking for an Assistant Accountant to help power our finance operations as we continue to support one of the most exciting engineering and manufacturing programmes in the UK.
If you’re detail‑driven, analytical and ready to play a key role in a fast‑moving finance team, this role gives you the chance to contribute to essential financial processes, strengthen operational controls, and help shape how our business delivers on major national projects.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Preparing monthly management accounts to support financial visibility across the business.
* Managing day‑to‑day activity across purchase ledger, sales ledger, and general ledger.
* Handling supplier payments and completing monthly supplier statement reconciliations — investigating discrepancies with confidence.
* Completing bank reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations with accuracy and insight.
* Overseeing the company credit card account and ensuring timely, compliant processing.
* Working directly with suppliers to resolve queries and track down missing invoices.
* Supporting month‑end processes and ensuring all deadlines are met.
* Assisting colleagues across the Finance department when needed and contributing to a well‑run, collaborative finance function.
What You’ll Bring
Essential
* Part‑qualified ACCA/CIMA, or AAT (or equivalent).
* Hands‑on experience with accounting software within an ERP environment, spanning sales, purchase and nominal ledgers.
* Practical experience with data analytics tools.
* Strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to interpret and present financial information clearly.
