Overview
Schedules mean you often know in advance where you\'ll be driving, taking the stress out of your day. The role offers job security within a growing, global business. You will be joining a busy fleet with opportunities for additional hours and enhanced pay for bank holidays and night-time hours (10pm-6am). You’ll join a friendly team that supports each other and shares traffic updates via WhatsApp.
Key Role Responsibilities
* You will not be micromanaged; you\'ll plan your own routes and manage your workload.
* The average number of stops in a shift is 4 to 6, leaving time to enjoy driving while ensuring you are home at the end of every 9-hour shift.
* Ensure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks are delivered to and from customers on time.
* At some sites, goods may be loaded or unloaded for you; at others, you may need to do this yourself.
* Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks may be part of your day.
* Inspect your vehicle and trailer daily and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
* Ensure everything is right first time for internal and external customers and communicate queries you cannot answer to your site manager promptly.
Requirements
* Class 1 Driving licence
* Driver CPC qualification card
* Completed required DCPC training hours or working towards them
* Excellent knowledge of Road Transport Laws and safe road use
* A can-do attitude

About the role
You will drive a lorry from our Volvo fleet, all less than 4 years old. Vehicles are high specification with features such as fridges and leather seats for comfort. Most sites operate Monday to Friday with 45-hour weeks and 9-hour shifts starting around 7/8am. Our shift pattern is well-organised to support your routine.
