Renishaw is a global technology company with core skills in measurement, motion control, healthcare, spectroscopy and additive manufacturing products. We are looking to recruit a Service and Support Engineer. Travel expectations for this role typically exceed 90%.
This is an excellent opportunity to use your technical knowledge along with interpersonal skills to deliver service, advice and support to include the installation, maintenance and repair of Renishaw’s innovative 3D Additive Manufacturing products. You will help ensure coverage of our customer base and maintain Renishaw’s reputation for high quality service and response.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
1. Assist customer on site specific location preparations.
2. Installation, commissioning of new machines & ancillary equipment at customer site.
3. General safety, operation and maintenance training.
4. Perform specified preventive maintenance task.
5. Diagnose and complete recommended repairs and replace wear and spare parts
6. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems/equipment failures and determine solution.
7. Assist in the organization of required spare parts or other necessities prior to service intervention.
8. Produce detailed reports to client and Renishaw including: Service, Time and Expense Reports.
9. Provide telephone and email customer and team support for troubleshooting and ordering parts.
10. Assist solution center in testing, operation and customer acceptance steps of equipment.
11. Complete travel arrangements on most cost and time effective terms.
12. Travel up to 90% domestically.
13. Other Duties as Assigned or Requested
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
14. Associates or Technical College, mechanical, electrical or automation engineering degree or
15. Up to 2 years of related field service experience in additive manufacturing or CNC machining. (Equivalent combination of education and experience)
16. This position may require the use of, and access to, ITAR controlled data. The applicant must demonstrate eligibility to use and access such ITAR controlled data. The purpose of this requirement is to ensure compliance with U.S. export control laws.
Education and Experience:
17. Knowledge and experience with Renishaw or other similar Additive Products.
18. Ability to understand and comprehend engineering principles
19. Understanding of electronic and mechanical principles
20. Strong trouble shooting skills
21. Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
22. Information Technology aptitude
23. Strong mathematical skills
24. i.e. Trigonometry
25. Ability to work in a "hands-on" environment, tinkering and hacking to build innovative solutions
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities, Competencies
26. Troubleshooting and Identification of malfunctions in advanced technical systems
27. Manual dexterity with the physical ability to install products in a normal production environment

30. Read and understand electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics.
31. Read and understand mechanical assembly drawings & instructions.
32. Experience in assembly of mechanical & electrical mid-size capital equipment (CNC mill, lathes, Plastic Extrusion, Roboteers, Automotive manufacturing cells)
33. Experience with electrical low and high voltage equipment.
34. Usage of electrical measurement equipment.
35. Excellent computer skills (hardware & software for machine specific applications.
36. Power User level knowledge in Microsoft products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
37. Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
38. Must be able to multitask and work in a deadline driven environment.
39. Strong time management skills.
40. Speak effectively to customers or employees of organizations.
41. Apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
42. Self-motivated, driven to learn and understand the products and tools.
43. Valid driving license
Compensation Range (Annual)
44. Up to $85,000(depending on level and location)

Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, as well as geographic location, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
