 
        
        Asset Strategy Manager – Hitachi Rail
Join Hitachi Rail to manage asset performance across UK Services and the Connect Services programme. The role leads strategic asset management, lifecycle optimisation and transition planning, supporting ISO 55001 alignment and service continuity.
Key Responsibilities
 * Lead the development and delivery of Asset Management Strategies and Annual Plans across UK Services contracts, with specific focus on the TfL Connect contract.
 * Drive improvements in the quality, accuracy, and completeness of asset data across all systems and platforms, working collaboratively with clients and internal teams to coordinate activities and resources that deliver successful outcomes and high levels of customer satisfaction.
 * Ensure robust data management processes are in place and enforced, with regular reviews to assess effectiveness and adapt to evolving systems.
 * Support the evolution of the existing Asset Management Framework, ensuring alignment with ISO 55001 principles and contributing to the organisation's readiness for future certification.
 * Ensure compliance with client‑specific asset policies, including TfL's Asset Management Strategy and associated standards.
 * Oversee the integrity and maintenance of asset registers, including cable and software inventories, and spares holdings, ensuring data is reliable and auditable.
 * Lead Supportability Engineering activities, including RAMT, LSA, FMECA, LoR, spares modelling, obsolescence forecasting, whole life cost analysis, in‑service performance, and useful life assessments, enabling data‑driven decision‑making.
 * Promote continuous improvement in maintenance regimes, fault analysis, and performance reporting, ensuring lessons learned are embedded across contracts.
 * Own all asset data aspects of the Exit Plan and Exit Management Programme for Connect Services, including data migration, asset handover, and structured knowledge transfer.
 * Ensure readiness for re‑tendering and support potential replacement contractors with comprehensive and structured exit information.
 * Identify and implement opportunities to harmonise asset and transition practices across UK contracts, enabling consistency and scalability.
 * Support the mobilisation and demobilisation of services, including contract start‑up and close‑out activities.
 * Act as the Asset Management SME, providing strategic input into bids, contract renewals, and service transformation initiatives.
 * Represent UK Services in client forums, governance reviews, and strategic planning sessions, ensuring asset management priorities are clearly communicated and aligned with client expectations.
 * Act as a key relationship manager across internal teams, ensuring effective collaboration between asset, data, and operational stakeholders.
 * Provide input into tooling decisions, ensuring new systems meet operational needs and data efficiency requirements, and that potential impacts are clearly communicated.
Technical Skills & Experience
 * Proven leadership in asset management and contract transition within transport, infrastructure, or services.
 * Experience operating to ISO55000 (Asset Management) framework.
 * Strong understanding of lifecycle planning, obsolescence, and maintenance strategies.
 * Experience managing complex contractual deliverables and client relationships.
 * Strong understanding of asset management systems.
 * Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
