About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager with a strong Manufacturing & HR background to oversee daily business operations while ensuring effective human resource management. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker who can optimize operational efficiency, drive team performance, and support the development of a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations Management:
o Oversee daily business functions to ensure efficiency, productivity, and high-quality service delivery.
o Develop and implement operational strategies to improve processes and maximize performance.
o Collaborate with senior management to align operational goals with business objectives.
o Manage budgets, resources, and procurement to ensure cost-effectiveness.
o Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to drive business growth.
2. Human Resources Leadership:
o Lead HR initiatives, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management.
o Develop and enforce HR policies in line with legal requirements and best practices.
o Handle employee relations, conflict resolution, and engagement strategies to foster a positive work environment.
o Oversee compliance with employment laws, health & safety regulations, and workplace policies.
o Support leadership in workforce planning, talent retention, and succession planning.
3. Team Management & Leadership:
o Supervise and support department heads to ensure seamless cross-functional collaboration.
o Provide mentorship and leadership to employees, promoting a culture of continuous learning.
o Drive employee performance through clear goal setting, coaching, and regular feedback.
Key Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience in an Operations Management role, ideally within manufacturing or engineering.
* Strong background in HR management, with knowledge of UK employment laws and HR best practices.
* Experience in workforce planning, performance management, and employee engagement.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision-making.
* Proficiency in HR software and operations management tools.
Qualifications
* CIPD qualification (desirable but not essential).
* Manufacturing Background Ideal.
