Salary: Mainscale/UPS1 (depending on experience)
We are seeking an experienced, inspiring teacher to join our dedicated team and take on subject leadership responsibility for English. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional who is passionate about teaching, learning, and raising standards across the curriculum.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner with a strong understanding of primary school pedagogy and curriculum expectations. As the English Lead, you will drive high-quality teaching and learning in English throughout the school and nursery, ensuring that all pupils develop a strong foundation in reading, writing, and spoken language.

As an English Subject Lead
We are looking for someone who can:
* Provide strategic leadership for English (Writing, SPAG and Reading) across the school
* Champion a love of reading and writing for all pupils
* Monitor and evaluate the quality of Writing, SPAG and Reading teaching and learning, using data to drive improvement
* Support colleagues through coaching, guidance, and the sharing of best practice
* Lead training and initiatives that strengthen the school's English provision
* Ensure curriculum coverage is coherent, ambitious, and aligned with whole school priorities
* Keep up to date with national developments in English and use this to inform school practice
* Coordinate resources, interventions, and enrichment opportunities related to English
Visits:
We will be running tours on Wednesday 15th and Monday 20th April 2026 at 3.45 pm. (please call the office on 01952 387720 to book a place on this tour). Though tours are not essential, they are strongly encouraged.
