J.P. Morgan is seeking an Android Software Engineer II within the International Private Bank. You will be part of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for delivering critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Responsibilities
* Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
* Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
* Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensures design constraints are met by software code development
* Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets to support continuous improvement of software applications and systems
* Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
* Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
* Supports and fosters a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
* Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and demonstrated applied experience
* Extensive experience with Android libraries such as Jetpack Compose and Kotlin Coroutines
* Practical knowledge of Android Platform Security best practices
* Experience building reusable libraries, components, and APIs
* Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
* Proficient in one or more programming languages
* Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming and database querying languages
* Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
* Knowledge of agile methodologies, CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security
* Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes in areas such as cloud, AI/ML, mobile, etc.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
* Proficiency in backend development languages such as Java or Python, with ability to design and implement robust server-side logic
* Hands-on experience with database development and management
* Experience in backend cloud development and maintenance using platforms such as AWS, Kubernetes, or Cloud Foundry, including deploying, scaling, and monitoring cloud-based applications
