Impact are recruiting for an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and growing creative manufacturing business as a Workshop/Production Manager. This is a key leadership role within a close-knit team that designs, builds, and installs bespoke structures across a wide range of industries. With a strong project pipeline and a reputation for delivering high-quality work, the business is looking to appoint a manager to lead the workshop function and drive production efficiency.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that requires both strategic thinking and practical experience. The ideal candidate will have a background in bespoke manufacturing, joinery, or exhibitions, with the ability to manage people, processes, and deadlines effectively.
Location: Northampton | On-site
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm
Pay: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum (DOE)
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all workshop operations, ensuring high standards of quality, efficiency, and health & safety are maintained at all times.
Lead, manage, and support a team of skilled joiners and fabricators in delivering bespoke builds to client specifications.
Manage production schedules, resource planning, and material procurement to meet project deadlines.
Interpret technical drawings and CAD plans, translating concepts into precise, manufacturable components.
Act as a key point of contact between workshop, project, and installation teams to ensure seamless delivery of work.
Conduct regular quality checks and ensure continuous improvement across the workshop function.
Maintain a tidy, safe, and well-organised workshop environment.
Identify and resolve production challenges proactively, ensuring minimal disruption to workflow.
Support the onboarding and training of new staff, promoting best practices and team development.Requirements:
Proven experience in a similar workshop, production, or site management role - ideally within exhibitions, joinery, bespoke carpentry, or interiors.
Strong working knowledge of fabrication techniques, woodworking machinery, and production planning.
Comfortable working to tight deadlines with a high level of attention to detail.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with experience managing workshop teams.
Ability to read and work from technical drawings and plans.
A hands-on approach with the ability to motivate others and problem-solve under pressure.
