Title: European Financial Governance and Compliance Analyst
Salary: €45,000-65,000 / year + Bonus (Around €10K)
Language: Fluency in English and Dutch is a must.
This position is for a highly motivated and ambitious individual with a passion for regulatory compliance (40%), governance risk (20%), and finance management (40%). You’ll be part of the finance team supporting our European offices’ governance cycle across multiple countries. The first challenge will be to create documentation and contracts with the help of internal departments and external advisors, while maintaining control of accounting to ensure adherence to established regulations and internal guidelines. This position reports directly to the European Head of Finance.
Main Responsibilities:
Compliance matters:
1. Establish and review required documentation with support from external advisors.
2. Track and follow internal rules and procedures.
3. Provide risk information by sharing management policies affecting internal controls.
4. Conduct compliance risk assessments and assist with compliance incidents.
5. Maintain compliance policies and procedures in line with Japan HQ regulations.
Finance management:
1. Analyze and control the accounting team to verify compliance with regulations.
2. Support the European Head of Finance with structuring and analyzing European reporting.
3. Set uniform finance processes across European offices and track their implementation.
4. Audit and advise to elevate the maturity and level of Internal Control.
5. Be responsible for corporate housekeeping and provide training to other European Heads.
6. Determine annual governance targets for each EU subsidiary and closely follow progress.
7. Coordinate tasks between Japan HQ and local offices.
8. Support the setup of new branches in European countries (if applicable).
Qualifications:
1. Currently based in the Netherlands.
2. Fluent in Dutch and English; any other European language is preferable.
3. Willingness to travel around Europe.
4. Experience in Compliance Governance or working with a Legal Consultant is a must.
5. Knowledge of Finance is essential.
6. Experience in managing overseas branches is an advantage.
