In this pivotal role, you’ll own and drive the roadmap for our Customer Data Mastering Solution, ensuring it delivers tangible business value and aligns with our strategic goals. Collaborating across business and IT functions, you’ll be responsible for identifying and prioritising enhancements, championing best practices, and leading initiatives that optimise the quality, governance, and usability of customer data across the enterprise.
As Product Owner for Customer Data Mastering, you’ll own NFU Mutual’s Customer Data Mastering capability, ensuring its successful delivery, ongoing performance, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
* Shape NFU Mutual’s enterprise-wide strategy and approach to Customer Data Mastering.
* Be the expert voice for Customer Data Mastering, collaborating with senior stakeholders across the business to prioritise a roadmap of change activity.
* Hybrid working with the option to work 80% of your hours from home.
* Own and drive the roadmap for the Customer Data Mastering Solution, ensuring it delivers tangible business value and aligns with strategic goals.
* Identify and prioritise enhancements, champion best practices, and lead initiatives that optimise the quality, governance, and usability of customer data across the enterprise.
* Act as a key subject matter expert, providing direction and guidance to major change programmes on how to best leverage and protect customer data while maintaining its integrity and alignment with our strategic vision.
* Shape and manage the backlog of change and enhancement activity, ensuring prioritisation aligns with business goals and delivers measurable outcomes.
* Embed effective processes, drive data governance alignment, and influence decisions that maximise the value of customer data across the enterprise.
* Lead the development and monitoring of performance metrics that measure the efficiency and effectiveness of our data mastering solutions, using insights to identify opportunities for further improvement.
* Deliver customer data improvement initiatives, support innovation through proof‑of‑concept activities, and ensure NFU Mutual remains at the forefront of Customer Data Mastering best practice.
About you
You’re an experienced Product Owner and recognised expert in Customer Data Mastering, passionate about using data as a strategic asset. You’re comfortable working across complex, matrixed environments and skilled at balancing technical insight with business priorities.
Required Qualifications and Experience
* Proven experience as a Product Owner in a large, cross‑functional organisation.
* Significant experience with Customer Data Mastering solutions (e.g. IBM MDM or equivalent) within insurance, financial services, or other regulated sectors.
* Deep knowledge of Master Data Management principles, including data modelling, data analysis, and governance.
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
* Commercial awareness and experience managing budgets and vendor relationships.
* A proactive, analytical mindset and the ability to navigate ambiguity to deliver clarity and progress.
