Job description
Working: The role offers flexible working but does require engineers on site for 3 days per week and is a on secure site where SC clearance is needed. The Systems Engineer will be working within the sensors department. They will be responsible for driving the technical direction of our products to meet challenging customer requirements by engaging and coordinating with wider specialist design teams and external entities to ensure we successfully deliver on our commitments. The nature of the work for the Systems Engineer is broad, varied and dynamically changing. The Systems Engineer will work within a highly skilled and expert team that will support in delivering on the companies our commitments. The company will work with you to develop your skills, knowledge and experience, as well as supporting your ongoing professional development, all while ensuring a good work-life balance Skill and Experience;
1. Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or have sufficient applicable defence industry experience.
2. A well-rounded Systems Engineer with any of the following skills and experience:
3. Requirements analysis, specifications and justification
4. System architecture design and modelling
5. System trade studies to inform design decisions
6. Systems proving, design assurance and certification
Desirable Experience;
7. Knowledge of the physics and technologies involved in Electro-Optical systems
8. Practical application of systems engineering processes to develop complex products, defence/aerospace industry or high integrity systems experience ideal
9. Experience of model based engineering techniques, including SysML
10. Use of systems engineering tools (e.g. IBM DOORS Next, Rhapsody, etc)
11. Experience of managing engineering work packages to deliver value outcomes, including co-ordination of other engineering disciplines and subject matter experts
12. Managing stakeholders, including customers or suppliers
13. Application of Defence, Military or other aerospace standards and design assurance processes is useful
14. Experience of working in AGILE teams and applying AGILE frameworks beneficial.
15. Knowledge of missile related technologies such as imaging, sensors, guidance, navigation, propulsion, datalinks, energetics, etc
