Your new role
The Ecology team thrives on tacklingplex challenges—whether conducting detailed field surveys, supporting small and large‑scale projects, or guiding clients through evolving legislation and best practice. They approach every project with integrity, precision, and a deep respect for the landscapes and species they work to protect.
You'll be working as part of an established and successful Ecology team and will have the opportunity to lead on projects across the whole lifestyle from conception through topletion.
Responsibilities vary depending on the level of role (Consultant, Senior, Principal, Associate), but may include:
1. Conducting/leading/guiding a range of ecological surveys
2. Project management, including budget control, invoicing, scheduling, and client liaison.
3. Prepare high-quality ecological reports and technical documents including PEA, BNG, protected species summaries, and ecological impact assessments (EcIAs).
4. Preparing fee proposals, tendering for work etc.
5. Providing expert advice and guidance to clients on ecological matters, ensuringpliance with relevant legislation and best practice
6. Developing and implementing mitigation and enhancement strategies to minimise ecological impacts and deliver biodiversity net gain strategies
7. Mentoring junior members of staff

What you'll need to succeed
Requirements vary depending on the level of role (Consultant, Senior, Principal, Associate), but may include:
9. A degree in Ecology or a related discipline.
10. Experience in ecological consultancy, with a proven track record of delivering services successfully.
11. Good botanical identification skills, ideally FISC level 3 and above.
12. Experience in conducting EcIAs and preparing planning applications.
13. Excellent report writing andmunication skills.
14. A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
15. Protected species licenses are highly desirable.
16. Experience with Biodiversity Net Gain calculations, implementation and reporting. Familiarity with BNG guidance and legislation is critical to this role.
17. Leadership skills.
