Tasks
* Our team of EMC-focused Technicians or Engineers deliver comprehensive EMC testing services for new and innovative technology and devices across various industries. The Technician will take ownership of setting up and completing EMC test projects and accurately delivering results to customers.
* TUV SUD will provide all necessary training for the successful candidate to perform the duties of this role. This is a great opportunity to join a reputable global organization, develop your technical skills, and build a career in engineering.
* Initial training will be conducted on a Monday-Friday shift pattern, 37 hours per week, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, before transitioning to a shift rotation. The successful candidate will rotate between the following shifts every two weeks:
* Shift 1: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (1-hour lunch); Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm (1-hour lunch)
* Shift 2: Monday to Thursday, 4:00 pm - 12:30 am (1-hour break); Friday, 4:00 pm - 12:00 am (1-hour break)
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Work closely with customers, Engineers, and Project Managers to provide EMC testing in both screened enclosure and in-situ environments.
* Support customers before and during test programs, especially communicating issues during any failure phases of their EMC testing.
* Maintain data and electronic logbooks for testing.
* Create test procedures, including photos and measurement uncertainty calculations.
* Develop test plans (as needed) and generate test reports.
* Contribute to the development and evaluation of test equipment and methods.
* Support client requirements validation, which may include site visits.
* Assist the sales team by providing technical information for quote generation.
* Specialize in a specific testing area, such as rail, marine, or radio EMC requirements.
* Provide training to engineers in your specialist area.
Qualifications
* Essential Criteria at Technician Level:
* Self-motivated with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
* Willing to work overtime and shift work as required.
* Proficient in IT, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and bespoke test systems.
* Desirable Criteria:
* Experience in electronics-based engineering roles.
* Comfortable engaging with customers.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
