To detail curtain walling, shop fronts, windows and doors and to communicate with client and internal teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Good understanding of the principles of design of curtain walling systems, shopfronts, windows and doors.
* Design and draft in sufficient detail, Curtain walling, shopfront, windows and doors along with bracketry pressings etc to achieve customers/architects design intent as well as producing fabrication details using AutoCAD Software.
* Ability to detail in various system supplier's products including, but not limited to, Metal Technology and Senior Architectural Systems.
* Producing schedules and production paperwork for manufacture.
* Amend projects in Logikal to reflect final construction issue drawings, enabling accurate cut optimisation and assembly lists to be outputted for manufacture.
* Liaise with Estimating and Commercial teams to ensure design is within budget.
* Manage project variations to ensure they are identified and instructed where appropriate and to liaise with commercial teams.
* Liaise and amend designs in discussion with both external and internal design teams both on and off site.
* Ensure designs are produced within programme deadlines.
* Awareness of current building regulations and architectural detailing.
* To work within current building regulations and British/European standards.
* Take reasonable care of both your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions, ensuring all company safety and quality systems are followed and all relevant legislation complied with, raising concerns and reporting any incidents or suggestions to your line manager.
* Any other ad hoc duties that may be required from time to time to support the business.
Skills/Qualifications/Experience required
* Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (both written and verbal).
* An eye for detail is essential for this role.
* Self-discipline and the ability to work unsupervised and meet strict deadlines.
* Flexible, adaptable and calm when working under pressure.
* Good team work ethic
* Excellent time management and organisational skills.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs expected.
* Experience of Logikal and AutoCAD software.
* A building envelope background, ideally with experience of scheduling / detailing aluminium, steel, and glass.
* A commitment to further training as seen fit for the position.
