About Sanper
Sanper is a specialist construction and maintenance company delivering high-quality services across complex and secure environments – including HM Prisons, Hospitals, and educational facilities. Since 2017, we've earned a reputation for reliability and professionalism in both public and private sectors, with a strong focus on sensitive and security-controlled sites.
The Role
We're looking for a skilled Mobile Maintenance Engineer with a strong plumbing background, who is comfortable working independently across multiple secure locations in the Bedford region. This role requires a flexible, multi-trade approach – while plumbing will be your primary focus, you'll also support general maintenance, repair, and refurbishment tasks across various disciplines.
You'll attend planned works and emergency call-outs, working in challenging but rewarding environments such as HM Prisons and other secure facilities. If you're a hands-on engineer with excellent fault-finding skills and a can-do attitude, we want to hear from you.

* Support general building fabric repairs (basic carpentry, patch plastering, tiling, painting, etc.)
* Diagnose and resolve faults in a timely and professional manner
Call-Outs & Mobile Coverage
* Attend emergency call-outs across the region, including reactive and urgent repairs
* Travel between secure sites in a company-provided vehicle
* Maintain a flexible approach to working hours, including participation in an on-call rota
Compliance & Safety
* Work in line with prison and site-specific security protocols at all times
* Complete RAMS and necessary documentation before starting works
* Carry out dynamic risk assessments where necessary
* Maintain tools, PPE, and van stock safely and efficiently
Communication & Reporting
* Liaise with on-site facilities teams, prison estates, and head office coordinators
* Report on work progress, completed tasks, and any further issues identified
* Use job management software and digital reporting tools (training provided)
