SEN Teaching Assistant - Special Educational Needs School Location: Peterborough, UK Contract Type: Full-time Permanent About the Role: Simply Education is currently recruiting for a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team at a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) school. This school provides a supportive and nurturing environment for children and young people with a variety of needs, including ASD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and complex learning difficulties. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a real difference in children's lives, whether you're experienced in SEN or looking to transition from a care, youth work, or mainstream education background. Key Responsibilities: Support pupils with a range of additional learning needs, both 1:1 and in small groups Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation Help with personal care and sensory needs where necessary (full training provided) Monitor pupil progress and maintain detailed support records About You: We are looking for someone who: Has experience working with children or young people with additional needs (formal or informal) Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a calm, consistent approach Is confident using a range of strategies to support learning and communication Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with staff, pupils, and parents Is adaptable and resilient, especially in a dynamic SEN setting Essential Requirements: Right to work in the UK Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) 2 professional references Commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children Safeguarding Statement: Simply Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
