Senior Digital Strategy Lead

Introduction

Full Slate Media
is a digital-first creative consultancy, working with leading brands, publishers, and creators to unlock growth and monetisation across YouTube and wider social platforms. We are proud to be representing a global media publishing house as they embark on an ambitious restructure of their digital content strategy.

The business is looking to rapidly grow its YouTube and multi-platform presence, transforming world-class editorial strengths into scalable, monetisable formats that rival and surpass competitor channels. This is a
fast-moving, breaking news environment
, where the successful candidate will lead a team that bridges formats, podcasts, and live/reactive coverage across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, and Facebook.

This role is central to that transformation, working closely with editorial, commercial, and production teams to align creative ambition with commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Growth

* Define and deliver a multi-platform growth strategy across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat, ensuring competitiveness and category leadership.
* Map out growth targets for subscribers, returning viewers, AVD, and cross-platform traffic to ensure rapid scale.
* Own the monetisation roadmap: YouTube AdSense, brand deals, affiliates, integrated partnerships, and sponsorships.
* Develop a
"content to revenue" framework
to ensure every series has defined monetisation touchpoints.
* Oversee performance analysis, benchmarking against competitors, and constant testing of thumbnails, titles, and packaging to improve CTR and watch-time.
* Build strong relationships with platform partners (YouTube, TikTok, Snap, Meta) to secure insights, early feature access, and support.
* Stay ahead of algorithm and feature updates, adapting strategy for growth (AI integration, YouTube Shopping, live commerce, etc.)

Leadership & Team Alignment

* Act as the bridge between editorial, digital, and commercial teams to align content priorities with brand positioning and revenue goals.
* Set and track team KPIs (growth, CTR, retention, revenue) with accountability across roles.
* Provide strategic oversight of the production calendar, ensuring the right balance of evergreen, reactive, and branded content.
* Chair weekly strategy meetings to review analytics, confirm direction, and greenlight new formats.
* Mentor and guide team leads (Head of Social, Lead Producer, Podcast Producer) to balance creativity with business targets.
* Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation, ensuring the brand stays ahead of competitors.

Editorial & Commercial Integration

* Translate editorial strengths (lifestyle, entertainment, news, beauty, or equivalent) into scalable, YouTube-first video formats.
* Work closely with commercial teams to identify sponsor-ready strands and monetisable integrations.
* Build a library of flagship formats designed as premium YouTube franchises for brand partnerships.
* Approve titles, thumbnails, and packaging to ensure editorial standards and algorithm-first strategy are met.

AI & Innovation

* Lead integration of AI tools across the workflow (scripting, transcription, thumbnail/title testing, metadata optimisation, analytics reporting).
* Train the team in AI-assisted processes to accelerate throughput without compromising quality.
* Test emerging tools (AI dubbing, auto-captioning, edit assistants) to maintain a competitive edge.
* Position the business as a
digital-first innovator
, scaling efficiency while protecting journalistic credibility.

What We're Looking For

* Proven 2-3 years experience leading digital growth strategy across YouTube and multi-platform ecosystems
* A track record in monetisation planning, brand partnerships, and revenue-driving formats.
* Strong grasp of platform algorithms, analytics, and emerging features.
* Experience managing cross-functional teams and aligning editorial with commercial outcomes.
* Confidence operating in a
fast-moving, breaking news environment

* Familiarity with AI-powered production, packaging, and reporting tools.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
* Commercially minded with a creative edge — able to innovate while delivering business impact.
* Examples of previous YouTube and other social channels where you have proved growth and monetisation are essential to be considered for the role.
