The Opportunity We have an exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join our Civils Team in the Christchurch office. We're seeking someone with 3–4 years of experience, a passion for innovative design, a willingness to learn, and the drive to take on new challenges. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Performing technical and feasibility studies, analysing maps, survey reports, plans and related data to create and design civil engineering projects Evaluating work scope and client needs against building regulations and standards Assessing environmental impacts and other factors that may influence project implementation Conducting health, safety and environmental impact evaluations to identify potential risk factors that may affect project delivery Using engineering computer software to develop detailed project design Supporting and collaborating within the team Dealing with third parties and local authorities to obtain approvals Qualifications and Experience Working knowledge of design software such as Autodesk, PDS, Flow, Civil 3Ds or similar Working knowledge of levels, drainage and surface design. Experience with S38, S278, S104 & S106 agreements would be an advantage Good understanding of environmental impact and desire to create a sound solution to protect environment Analytical problem-solving skills Good written and verbal communication skills Working knowledge of relevant regulations and legislation Continuing professional development to keep up to date with new technologies, materials and methods of construction Knowledge of external construction and drainage detailing would be of benefit
