We are looking for a positive, compassionate, and caring Support Workers to join our team in Burgess Hill on a full time, permanent basis, where we support five people in supported living.
Two of the people we support require support in the community, the other three are fully independent but may sometime need the same support. They can all communicate verbally and do not require personal care.
We would prefer you to be a driver but it's not essential.
The people within the service have a busy schedule and love to be out and about but will require support when going out in the community. The adults we support enjoy a variety of hobbies and activities.
We use a dynamic approach to enable the people we support to communicate through alternative tools and methods, such as using Makaton or a photo translation book.
As a Support Worker, flexibility is key for both yourself and for the service, you may be required to work a variety of different shifts throughout the week, including mornings, evenings, sleep ins and weekends.
What does a Support Worker do?
As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will help to ensure the people we support live a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life.
* Supporting people to live independently – budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
* Excellent communication skills and Relationship building – supporting the people we support to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.

* Personal care - helping people to get ready for the day. This may include prompting the people we support to take their medication and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom. Not all Support Worker roles include high levels of personal care.
