Our client, based in the West Bromwich area, is seeking an IT Support Technician to join them on a permanent basis. The role involves working on their IT Service Desk, providing effective, efficient, and friendly support to clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for logging service requests for IT problems and providing guidance, support, and solutions over the phone. If a resolution cannot be reached due to the complex nature of the issue, the candidate will need to escalate the problem in a timely manner, keeping the customer updated throughout the process.

What will you be doing?
* Providing helpful, professional IT support to customers
* Performing predefined maintenance checks and tasks regularly
* Logging all service requests in the ticketing system
* Progressing to resolution or escalating requests as needed
* Analyzing and researching to resolve service requests
* Keeping customers informed about their request status
* Responding to alerts from the Monitoring System
* Maintaining network documentation in the Knowledge Base
* Liaising with external vendors to resolve issues
* Developing and documenting standard operating procedures
* Planning onboarding for new clients and IT projects
* Learning and researching new technologies
* Attending client sites as required
* Performing other duties to support the business
What we’re looking for:
* Proven experience in a similar role
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ideally, a car and a valid license
* Strong organizational skills
