Overview
We are working on behalf of a dynamic and fast-growing fit-out specialist contractor based in Manchester, who are seeking a driven and ambitious Pre-Construction Manager to join their expanding team. This is a client-facing, development-focused role, perfect for someone with a solid foundation in the fit-out market, who is ready to take the next step in their career and be nurtured into a senior-level contributor.
This role is designed for an individual who is confident, proactive, and collaborative, and wants to be developed under experienced senior pre-construction leaders. Key Responsibilities
* Client Coordination: Be a key point of contact for clients from early engagement through to handover, ensuring all needs and expectations are understood and met.
* Internal Collaboration: Liaise closely with the Sales, Design, and Pre-Con teams to translate technical specifications, costs, and proposals into successful tender submissions.
* Project Lifecycle Oversight: Support the full pre-construction journey - from initial concept through to handover to delivery teams.
* Commercial Input: Assist in pricing, compiling contractor proposals, and ensuring tenders meet commercial and quality benchmarks.
* Documentation Management: Collate and validate all non-design documentation for client submittals including programmes, contractor's proposals, costings, and technical reports.
* Project Handover Pack: Coordinate and compile the complete pack of delivery information that forms the contractual start point of each project, ensuring clarity for both the client and internal teams.
* Support Senior Pre-Con Team: Take on responsibilities to free up senior pre-con personnel, contributing meaningfully while continuing to learn and develop.
What We're Looking For
* Someone with 1-4 years' experience in a fit-out contractor, ideally within pre-construction, estimating, or project coordination.
* Confident and articulate, with the interpersonal skills to build client trust and internal rapport.
* A solid understanding of commercial fit-out projects and the key stages of project development.
* Team-oriented, with a willingness to contribute to group success and support others.
* Proactive and organised, able to manage multiple inputs and deadlines.
