Overview
We are recruiting for a Specialist Safeguarding Midwife who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients. A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic safeguarding team, as a Band 7 Specialist Safeguarding Midwife. The post holder will be a fundamental part of the safeguarding team and work closely with the Trust named midwife to ensure that safeguarding remains at the heart of practice for women and UBB across the Trust.
The post holder will work closely with Safeguarding Children's/Adults Teams, Perinatal Mental Health midwives and our Trust Domestic and Sexual Abuse Team. Responsibilities
* Role includes supervision, training, education, managing and maintaining a very busy inbox, liaising with multi-agency partners to ensure robust plans are in place for our most vulnerable babies.
* Attending a variety of Children's Social Care and Multi-disciplinary meetings (in person and virtual) and chairing meetings as part of the role.
* Directly supporting women and midwives; auditing and data analysis as required.
* Work collaboratively with the Named Midwife for safeguarding and other lead professionals in developing safeguarding strategies and policies for the Trust.
* Maintain knowledge of Safeguarding and continue to develop expertise in this area of practice.
