Job Description:
HR Operations Manager
Are you ready to help shape the future of HR in a tech-focused business? Are you a robust, hands-on HR leader who thrives on autonomy and impact? Our client is hiring its first-ever HR Operations Manager. This is a newly created role with real breadth, influence, and ownership—ideal for someone who relishes the opportunity to build, streamline, and lead from the ground up.
Our client is a leading technology business seeking a proactive and experienced HR Operations Manager to take ownership of their HR operations and drive the people agenda forward. This is a role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and wants to make their mark.
The role:
Reporting directly to the Head of People, you'll play a central role in strengthening their HR infrastructure and scaling best-in-class people practices. You’ll lead core HR operations, including payroll, employee engagement, recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and systems management—ensuring everything runs smoothly and strategically.
This is more than operational work—it’s an opportunity to shape culture, enhance employee experience, and support strategic people initiatives.
This role requires initiative, problem-solving, and execution with rigour and care. You’ll embed effective processes, unlock data insights, and create engaging experiences.
Own all HR operations—overseeing policies, processes, pay reviews, and benefits renewals. Take full operational control, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and effectiveness in core people operations.
Lead payroll and reward operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and legal compliance. Manage benefits administration with confidentiality and accountability.
Handle employee relations confidently, ensuring fair resolution and legal compliance. Support managers with practical advice.
Drive employee engagement through initiatives that foster connection, purpose, and positivity.
Support recruitment and onboarding, ensuring a smooth experience for new hires and collaborating with recruitment partners.
Act as a trusted advisor on employee relations, supporting managers and navigating complex cases to foster an inclusive workplace.
Utilize HR systems to generate meaningful metrics and reports for decision-making.
Review and improve HR processes to ensure operational excellence as the organization scales.
Maintain compliance with employment law, GDPR, and audit requirements.
Shape and implement competitive, inclusive compensation and benefits frameworks.
The person:
Degree educated, ideally CIPD L7 qualified (or L5 with ongoing studies).
Experience in HR operations, preferably within tech or fast-paced environments.
Strong knowledge of UK employment law, payroll, benefits, and compliance.
Experience managing HR systems and reporting tools.
Proven track record of continuous improvement.
Self-starter, proactive, with excellent communication skills.
Collaborative, discreet, and solution-oriented with high integrity.
Passionate about employee experience and human-centric HR initiatives.
Comfortable with ambiguity and driving change in growing organizations.
This is a high-impact HR leadership opportunity to shape the future of people operations.
