Our Early Years Leader oversees the delivery of the Early Years programme on camp, fostering an exciting, enjoyable, and nurturing environment. They will deliver structured sports, arts, crafts activities, and games to the Early Years children enrolled on camp—our Ultimate Activity Juniors. Activities will follow EYFS requirements, emphasizing participation and quality.
Supported by the Camp Manager, the Early Years Leader will be the key contact for 4- and 5-year-olds, ensuring their welfare and providing high-quality care. They will also ensure all Ofsted requirements are met and act as the primary contact for parents of our Juniors.
The role involves working within a ratio of 1:8, either independently or as part of a team. The Leader will coordinate, direct, and support the Early Years team to deliver high-quality childcare at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and deliver engaging programmes for the Ultimate Juniors, ensuring EYFS compliance.
* Prepare and deliver sports, arts & crafts, and games tailored to 4- and 5-year-olds' development and enjoyment.
* Support and supervise a small team of Early Years staff.
* Ensure Ofsted requirements are always met, liaising with inspectors as needed.
* Act as the main point of contact for parents and guardians, providing feedback and observations.
* Manage administrative duties such as sign-in/out and registration.
* Work with the Camp Manager to promote children's welfare.
* Supervise children outside activity times, ensuring high-quality care for diverse backgrounds and developmental stages.
* Uphold the camp's promise of inspiring children daily, demonstrating energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism.
* Adhere to all policies and procedures, including health, safety, and safeguarding.
* Perform ad-hoc duties like cleaning and equipment management.
Minimum Requirements:
* Educated to Level 3 in Early Years/Childcare or Primary Education, with significant experience working with 4- and 5-year-olds.
* Experience in delivering age-appropriate activities and tailoring sessions accordingly.
* Enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate about child development through play.
* Strong organizational and communication skills, confident in leading groups and responsibilities.
* Good knowledge of the EYFS framework and its application in a camp setting.
* Excellent face-to-face customer service skills, confident in interacting with parents.
* Pro-active, conscientious team player adaptable to dynamic situations.
* Desire to work in a rewarding, holiday-based childcare environment.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Supervisory or management experience.
* Experience taking sole charge of children.
* Paediatric First Aid qualification (12-hour or 6-hour).
