The role of the Trade Compliance Manager is to ensure:
* Trade Compliance
* Compliance with import/export control procedures
* Compliance with local/global product requirements and regulations related to imports / exports.
About the Role
Day-to-day monitoring of site export and import shipments to maximize customer satisfaction; resolve any transaction issues, escalate significant transaction or process issues as needed. Assist Spring GDS in the development and implementation of local compliance policies specific to trade compliance changes EU policy changes. Support Spring GDS with other process, strategic and transactional support when needed. Maintain filing systems to manage export and import records while meeting government and corporate record retention requirements.
Responsibilities
* Interface with internal and external stakeholders in order to obtain required information.
* Perform screening activities for proposed export transactions, suppliers, site visits, and documenting the screening as evidence of due diligence.
* Assist Spring GDS with the management of all applicable databases containing dual use and tariff classifications with AEB / Customers wide IT stakeholders on classification and HS coding issues.
* Apply for and maintain / administer all necessary licenses, permits and approvals for export transactions, including AEO, IATA, etc.
* Perform annual reporting.
* Conduct audits as necessary.
* Provide necessary import/export information to customs brokers and forwarders to ensure proper clearance of imports, exports and other aspects of trade compliance.
* Communicating with suppliers and potentially internal stakeholders / customers to ensure they adhere to requirements for proper export / import.
* Conduct periodic import clearance document audits and implement necessary corrective actions while monitoring import logs on a daily basis.
* Support licensing processes.
* Working together with wider CBS teams on compliance related tasks & any other relevant tasks as necessitated by the business.
* Monitor trade compliance programs and processes with modest direction.
Skills, Qualifications, Experience
* Extensive experience in import and/or export customer service, purchasing, supply chain, international operations and/or compliance.
* Degree / level 5-7 in Logistics & Transport - desirable.
* Detailed knowledge of the international mail market and/or working knowledge of parcels business.
* Excellent geographical knowledge.
* Aptitude for research and investigative work.
* Self-starter; with ability to prioritize and multitask.
* Ability to read and interpret government regulations.
* Customer Service skills and experience desired.
* Ability and willingness to travel.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Strong interpersonal skills both externally and internally with excellent command of spoken and written English.
* Systemic business vision, experience of business planning/development in a changing market place.
* Project management skills.
* Good ability with all Microsoft Office applications, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access.
