About The Role
Overall responsibility for project delivery across initiation, planning, design, delivery, monitoring, commissioning, and handover/close out. Acts as a change agent providing management, leadership and inspiration to a multi‑disciplinary team to achieve a common goal. Determines the most appropriate means of satisfying customer/project requirements, objectives and constraints – time, cost, quality, scope, risk and benefits.
Governance
Hold periodic project reviews (PRM) and update the Digital Briefcase in accordance with GBL. Ensure the team maintains accurate project records – progress, daily diaries etc. Prepare internal and external reports and liaise with stakeholders.
Analytical Thinking & Decision Making
Initiate good scope, information and configuration management principles. Provide reports that contain relevant information enabling cost‑effective, strategy‑aligned decisions. Ensure scope and package assignment supports coordinated team working.
Health, Safety & Environmental
Maintain zero‑harm focus, stay current on legislative changes. Responsible for safety and welfare of the public, employees and supply chain. Conduct periodic safety and environmental tours, promote safety initiatives, support accident investigations and monitor the effectiveness of the H&S management system.
Resources & Development
Develop, implement and update resource allocation plans (OBS) and raise appropriate requests. Produce plans that help the team achieve goals and aspirations. Cultivate high‑performing teams, build a talent pipeline and provide support through mentoring and performance management.
Leadership & Line Management
Produce plans for team goal achievement and development. Foster a high‑performing culture, empower the team and provide guidance and motivation.
Risk, Issue & Opportunity
Lead risk and opportunity reviews, present the risk register and recommend changes. Log and escalating issues that cannot be resolved at the delegated authority level.
Procurement & Supply Chain
Manage subcontractors, monitor attendance and progress, and provide direct instruction so contractual arrangements are met. Ensure procurement plans align with overall project plans for timely delivery of materials and resources.
Quality
Ensure all work is undertaken with handover and certification in mind. Accountable for KPIs aligned with objectives, monitor performance, conduct assurance activities and take action on audit findings. Lead working groups to focus on improvement areas.
Schedule
Develop, implement, review and update resource‑loaded schedules. Encourage productivity and project control techniques, monitor progress and implement short‑interval controls, hold weekly meetings, and produce milestones that reflect the master schedule and customer expectations.
