STI’s Commercial function is now focussed on growth. You’ll be joining a team that’s responding to the UK's revised Defence Industrial Strategy of “Made in the UK”. Our customers are principally the UK's Prime contractors in Defence, Aerospace and Security.
What you’ll do:
* Hunt, shape, bid and win annual order intake to deliver allocated annual revenue sales targets at the highest achievable margin
* Create and mature a variable pipeline in target accounts to be a minimum of 4-5x of the specific annual revenue targets
* Track all issued quotations and ensure cash is received with PO and customer adopts STI T&Cs in preference to their own
* Develop, execute, and implement a business development / sales strategy that delivers new long term profitable volume business
* Maintain constantly updated forecast on all accounts using dedicated forecasting and CRM software tools
* Directly advising on the price and margin build up and recommending commercial contingencies / alerting on any potential risks
* Ensure all bid opportunities are managed through the STI gate process, developed into compelling and profitable offers and approved by company offers at varied levels of delegated authority
* Proactively managing customers post award for delivery and any potential in contract scope changes to mitigate risk of delivery and acceptance
* Establish and build strong internal site functional relationships to ensure full support from internal teams
For this role you will need:
* Proven sales delivery within UK Defence / Aerospace & Security
* Proven Business Development / Sales in direct or related customers and B2B markets, being Defence Electronics and Communication - and Test is preferred)
* Research and implement innovative sales campaigns to gain new customers or accounts
* Identify and develop relationships at multiple levels, especially with key decision makers
* Uncover new business opportunities, qualify, present compelling solutions and gain commitments to offer STI RFI/RFQs / contract award
* Accomplished negotiator and high level of understanding in standard sales contract terms and conditions
* Accomplished communicator, enthusiastic in nature with strengths in active listening, questioning, confirming and emotional intelligence
* Develop an understanding of customer use cases, internal decision-making nuances, budget cycles and other essential information necessary to increase our opportunity to win
