An exciting opportunity awaits for a compassionate and dedicated individual to join one of our partnership schools in Watford as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA). You'll be providing essential support to a key child who can display challenging behaviour. After working with the school Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and class teacher, you will have a structured plan of how to support the child and help them to flourish both emotionally and academically, as well as improving their personal regulation skills.
This post is in one of Randstad's partnership schools in Watford, Hertfordshire, and is a full-time temproary role that has the opportunity to become permanent from September 2024.
Responsibilities of your 1:1 TA role:
1. Create a supportive and nurturing learning environment to promote the student's well-being
2. Provide personalised support to the designated student throughout the school day
3. Assist with academic tasks and activities tailored to the individual needs of the child
4. Collaborate with teachers and school SENCO to follow personalised support plans for the child
5. Offer support to other children in the class where necessary and appropriate
Requirements of your 1:1 TA role:
6. Previous childcare experience - essential
7. Experience working with children with emotional needs - preferred
8. Excellent communication skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
9. Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children facing diverse learning challenges
