Responsive Inpatient Healthcare Assistant

We have positions available for experienced health care assistants who are keen to join our responsive health care team and share their experience with the staff and patients they are supporting. This is a great opportunity for those wanting to join our bespoke team within DCHS.
Are you a compassionate and experienced Healthcare Assistant with a keen interest in patients with enhanced care needs?
As a Responsive Healthcare Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting patients with enhanced care needs as they transition into our service. You will work closely with the Multi-disciplinary team to ensure that patients receive the highest standard of care. An element of Speciality training will be provided to equip you with the skills needed for this role.
As part of this role you will be required to be flexible and you will be required to change location at short notice and therefore a driving licence and access to a vehicle will be essential.

Main duties of the job
Main duties will include the day to day delivery of care guided and planned by Registered Nurses and other Registered Professionals such as Therapists and Advanced Clinical Practitioners.
* Assisting patients with daily activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding.
* Providing emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families.
* Monitor and record patients' baseline observations and report any changes to the nursing staff.
* Support the nursing team in delivering care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
* Help patients settle into the ward environment and ensure their comfort and safety.
* Participate in speciality training to enhance your skills and knowledge.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care

Person Specification
Experience and Knowledge Required
* Previous experience of caring in an informal or formal setting
* NVQ Level 2 in care / BTEC Health & Social Care or equivalent
Education, Qualifications and Training
* Maths and English GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent)
* NVQ in health-related care (or equivalent)
Skills and Attributes
* Ability to manage risk
* Ability to work as part of a team
Other
* Able to work weekends and bank holidays as required
* Will need to be able to work shift patterns over a 24 hour period
