Responsibilities
* Provide specialist nursing input to patients with UGI cancer within the UGI and multi‑disciplinary teams, aiming to deliver an enhanced patient experience.
* Manage patient case load within the busy UGI team, including sign‑posting patients to appropriate services, providing advice, support and symptom management.
* Work in line with the Band 7 UGI Clinical Nurse Specialist and coordinate care to support patients and families receiving treatment at The Christie.
* Plan and provide highly specialist advice for the UGI service after successful completion of the competency framework, progressing to a Band 7 CNS role.
Qualifications
* Oncology experience, with a strong motivation to improve patient care.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
* Well‑developed clinical and professional leadership skills to encourage and promote best outcomes for patients, relatives, and carers.
* Ability to work autonomously and confidently engage with colleagues at all levels and professional groups.
