About the Role
The NHS Lothian Clinical Health Psychology Service is advertising a permanent 0.5 wte Band 8A Applied Psychologist position within the Pain Management Service at Astley Ainslie Hospital, Edinburgh.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide clinical input to patients with high psychosocial complexity associated with chronic pain, delivering therapeutic interventions in 1:1 and group formats through the Pain Management Programme.
* See patients in-person or online (NearMe).
* Collate and participate in clinical supervision of qualified team members, trainee psychologists and assistant psychologists.
* Lead or take part in service audits, research and service development initiatives.
* Work closely with Specialist Pain Physiotherapy colleagues and other psychologists across different professional backgrounds.
Qualifications & Experience
* Band 8A applied psychologist qualification with experience in pain management preferred.
* Current PVG Scheme membership or record; if not current, successful completion of a Disclosure Scotland application before starting.
* Evidence of ability to provide clinical supervision.
* Strong communication, teamwork and reflective practice skills.
