Perm Management | Flexible Working | Capped Caseloads | 'Good' Ofsted
Safeguarding Social Worker | South West | £47/h
I hear too often from social workers that a change in job can sometimes feel like you’re dealing with the same issues but in a different location – to put a well known phrase politely.
So what is it that can make a difference when looking to move? For sure supportive management helps, along with a supportive team. Robust processes, but without being micromanaged with KPIs; Most likely manageable caseloads too.
Hopefully this particular role should tick all those boxes – due to being in the south west, naturally you’ll be working in a more rural locality so a car is necessary, however in exchange for a bit of driving (through some of the UKs most beautiful countryside) you’ll be working in a local authority with a reputation for retaining their permanent staff via stable management, realistic caseloads, and a generally friendly, welcoming feel.
The management team are mostly home grown, with any external hires having been brought in permanently to ensure consistency of supervision and oversight. You’ll be dealing with cases from assessment, through children in need and Child protection to ensure consistency in the journey of the child, with cases being passed over once initial hearings are completed.
Leaders in Care can offer a rate of £47/h, along with a service that has received 460 5* Google reviews – this means weekly check ins, support on your placement, and a market leading timesheet & payroll system that means Fridays are no longer a stress of refreshing your bank to see if your money is coming!
As this is a statutory role, you do require a social work qualification & registration to Social Work England.
