What will you be doing?
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you\'ll provide vital support to students, helping them engage with their lessons and develop essential life skills. You\'ll be:
* Supporting Students One-on-One or in Small Groups - Subjects include English, Maths, and Functional Skills.
* Managing Behaviour & Emotions - Using de-escalation strategies, positive reinforcement, and restorative techniques.
* Adapting Learning Materials - Tailoring lessons to meet individual needs and learning styles.
* Building Social and Emotional Skills - Encouraging resilience, confidence, and self-regulation.
* Collaborating with Teachers and SENCOs - Working to implement individual plans and provide the best support.
Who are we looking for?
* Someone passionate about working with students who have SEND, SEMH, ASD, ADHD, or other behavioural challenges.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills - ability to connect with students and staff.
* Patience, resilience, and empathy - proactive and supportive approach.
* Experience with behaviour management or child development is a bonus (training provided).
* Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain).
A Day in the Life
Your day starts with a quick briefing on student needs, followed by academic and emotional support throughout the day using visual aids, sensory tools, and structured routines. You\'ll finish with collaborative planning and progress review.
