Quantity Surveyor – Civil Engineering (Permanent) Location: West of Scotland Reference: J45708 Our client, a well-established regional civil engineering contractor specialising in road surfacing and groundworks, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse range of infrastructure projects across the West of Scotland. Key Responsibilities: Carry out monthly cost value reconciliations. Ensure valuations are maximised, certified, and paid on time. Manage any contract variations promptly and accurately. Prepare cost and value forecasts for all trades. Collaborate with the operations team to secure labour, materials, and subcontractors, ensuring contracts are delivered on time and within budget. Monitor on-site progress and take the lead in issuing required notices in line with contractual procedures and timescales. Carefully review all quotations to ensure compliance with specifications and secure the most competitive rates. Prepare and agree Final Accounts. Accurately manage subcontractor accounts to enhance contract performance. Candidate Profile: You should be methodical, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and demonstrate the following: Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline. A minimum of 2–3 years’ proven experience in Quantity Surveying within civil engineering projects; experience in surfacing is desirable. Strong knowledge and experience of NEC3 and NEC4 forms of contract is essential. Full UK driving licence.
