Are you ready to play a key role in keeping important projects on track and making things happen?
About us
Based on a 545-acre WWII airfield in Wroughton near Swindon, the Science & Innovation Park (SIP) is home to one of the world's preeminent collections of science, technology, transport, medicine and the media, housing more than 300,000 objects from the Science Museum's Collection. The site is made up of a number of hangars, purpose-built stores, large open areas, native woodlands, runways and one of the UK's largest solar farms.
We have an ambitious and exciting investment programme of construction works to ensure our collection is protected for generations to come. The programme will help improve the conditions of the storage facilities on site for our collection, build infrastructure resilience, enhance operational effectiveness and lower the museums' carbon footprint, while aiming to minimise the impact on the day-to-day operations of our colleagues working on the site. It's a challenging and fast-paced programme and an exciting time to join the team
About the role
The Project Coordinator is an administrative role reporting to The Head of Projects at SIP. You will support the Capital Projects team working across multiple projects concurrently with the administration, coordination and delivery of capital works projects.
The role requires someone who is highly organised with a keen eye for detail to provide administrative support with meeting administration, diary management, financial management and reporting as well as assisting with supervision of contractors in our collections stores when required. The role will also require engagement with relevant internal stakeholders up to Director level as well as consultants and contractors.
This is a permanent contract, you will be working Monday to Friday 35 hours per week, based at the Science & Innovation Park. You will be required to work from site for a minimum of 3 days per week.

You'll have experience in administration within busy teams, including managing meetings, minute writing, diary management and a keen attention to detail. Clear written and spoken communication, paired with effective interpersonal and collaborative abilities, will enable you to work well with internal teams, subject experts, and external consultants or contractors. The ideal candidate will perform well during heavy workloads, can meet tight deadlines and have the tenacity to ensure key stakeholders provide the information needed to keep projects on track.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, a working knowledge of financial processes and spreadsheets, and the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise, and manage your own workload are all important. We're looking for candidates who are reflective, learning from past experiences and suggesting improvements, and share our values-driven approach, with a passion for contributing to an open and inclusive organisation.
While not essential, experience supporting projects in construction or estate environments, familiarity with Health & Safety requirements, and prior project-based work would be advantageous.
Don't feel you meet all the criteria? We welcome you to apply even if your experience doesn't match directly. With your transferable skills, you could be the right candidate for this, or other opportunities that we have.
