Role Title: Graduate Ecologist
Start Date: Summer 2026
Location: Southampton, Bristol or Cardiff
Job Description: Are you looking to apply your academic learning and turn your passion for Ecology into a career? This role offers training and mentoring to develop field craft and consultancy skills from a team of ecology experts. The Ecology team has won awards including Large Consultancy of the Year (CIEEM, 2023 and 2025) and Large Scale Mitigation Project of the Year (CIEEM, 2023).
The Role / Key Duties
As part of Tetra Tech’s Ecology team, you will support and assist our ecologists in undertaking habitat and protected species surveys (including bats, reptiles, amphibians, otters, barn owls), desktop studies, data analysis, and report writing. This is an opportunity to develop field craft and consultancy skills as part of a professional outdoors team. You will work with colleagues across the wider business on multidisciplinary opportunities and projects.

Flexible working options are available, including reduced or compressed hours and flexible start/finish times. Office, site, or field-based work may be required as needed to deliver the role.
About The Ecology Team

Qualifications / Skills
* Minimum 2:1 Degree in ecology, conservation, or a related discipline
* Student or qualifying member of CIEEM (or working towards)
* Understanding of ecological survey and mitigation principles
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional early mornings
* Willingness to travel for work
* Valid UK driving licence; vehicle access preferable
* Ability to obtain SC clearance and DBS check
