Job Advert Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our incredible team in Spring lodge. This role requires the successful candidate to hold a full UK manual driving licence As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs. From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life. Spring Lodge is home to four gentlemen who require support with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health needs, and communication difficulties. At times, they may display challenging behaviours. We need Support Workers to provide the physical and emotional support that our gentlemen need every day. This includes assistance with personal care, medication, finances, eating, and drinking in line with SaLTs to help them achieve their goals and aspirations. Qualities and Skills Required: Relationship Building : Essential for gaining the trust of the people we support, establishing open communication, and building lasting relationships. Patience and Understanding : Important for navigating challenging situations effectively. Conflict-Resolution Techniques : Necessary for managing and resolving conflicts in a constructive manner. What we're looking for : A genuine passion for supporting others. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities. Contract options : Part-time: 21 hours and 35 hours Shift times : All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life! Days: Between 07:00-22:00 All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
