Overview
The Environment Agency Transformation Portfolio Management Office (PMO) is focused on creating a centralised portfolio that drives change, transformation, and continuous improvement. We’re currently looking for two Benefits and Efficiencies Analysts to join the team. You will analyse data from PMO colleagues and project/programme managers across the portfolio, help set the standards for benefits and value management, and embed them to identify, value and validate project benefits.
You will be part of the PMO within the Transformation Team in the Strategy, Transformation and Assurance (STA) directorate. The team supports change, transformation and continuous improvement across the business. The Environment Agency is committed to an inclusive workforce reflecting the communities we serve.
Responsibilities
* Analyse data from PMO colleagues and project/programme managers to shape and optimise the project Portfolio.
* Help set and embed standards for benefits and value management.
* Identify, value, and validate project benefits; support decision‑making and risk management across change initiatives.
* Collaborate across organisational boundaries and build constructive relationships.
* Develop and maintain dashboards or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel).
Qualifications and Skills
* Strong analytical skills with proven experience as a Benefits Analyst, Efficiencies Analyst, or Business Analyst.
* Experience building and maintaining dashboards or reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel).
* Ability to work collaboratively across organisational boundaries and build constructive relationships.
* Clear communication skills; able to explain complex analysis to non‑technical audiences.
* Self‑motivation and adaptability; comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
* Experience producing guidance, toolkits or frameworks to support colleagues.
* Commitment to diversity and inclusive working practices; ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
Working Arrangements
* Hybrid working location; EA Office base with national reach.
* Some travel and overnight stays may be required; smart tools used to stay connected and reduce travel.

Competitions focus on several core competencies, including Data and Information Management, Customer Focus, and Achieving Results.
