DFC Work Experience - Fresh Food Deli/Hot Food Assistant

Fresh Food Assistant Work Experience opportunity will give individuals the opportunity to experience preparing and delivering fresh food products to customers in our supermarketsetting. Responsibilities will include food production, serving customers, merchandising the counter, stock control, waste management, cleaning and providing excellent customer service to ensure a high-quality customer experience.


Responsibilities

* Prepare and serve a range of fresh food products to customers following company guidelines
* Ensure all products meet quality and freshness standards
* Always follow proper food safety and hygiene practices
* Monitor fresh food counters and display to ensure they are attractive to customers and readyfor peak service times
* Operate deli and hot food equipment, slicers, ovens and scales in your department
* Track ingredients and allergen data for products and ensure you refer to allergen folder whennecessary
* Assist customers with product inquiries and provide recommendations
* Handle customer requests in a friendly and professional manner
* Display and replenish fresh food products to maintain an attractive presentation on the shopfloor
* Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
* Maintain a clean and organised fresh food area, including equipment and workspaces


Skills and Qualifications

* Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment
* Able to weigh produce, and manage stock accurately
* Food Safety & Hygiene Knowledge - understanding of safe food handling, storage, andpreparation
* Product Knowledge - awareness of different meats, salads, and fresh foods offered at thecounter.


Further Information

This work experience opportunity is expected to last for 2 weeks and will require attendance of 25 hours/week. While on Work Experience, participants will retain their entitlement to benefit. Those who are not receiving benefit are also welcome to participate. Travel and childcare costs may be reimbursed. Participants will also receive an incentive payment equivalent to £10/day to a maximum of £50/week.
