Contract: Full Time, permanent

Salary: Grade 4 SCP 6-11 (£25,989- £28,142) Pro Rata

Hours: 32.5 hrs per week, Term Time only (39 weeks)

8.30am-3.30pm (with 30 minutes lunch break)

Required for Thursday 15th January 2026

The Governing Body and Headteacher are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to work as a teaching assistant in our Early Years and Year 1 and 2 settings across our inclusive, welcoming school that is at the heart of its community.

Severn Primary School is a happy, vibrant, culturally diverse inner-city school with a two-form entry, large nursery and wrap around care provision. It is situated in the Canton area of Cardiff about a mile from the centre of the city.

This role will be based in mainstream classes and will involve:

-supporting pupils in class under the supervision and direction of the class teacher

-working with ALN pupils on specific targets in their IDP

-providing general support to the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom, including preparation, and routine maintenance of resources/equipment.

Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014, all School Learning Support Workers must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
